About the Work Live

To keep with university regulation I developed a basic file uploading system, which allows the content provider to upload programme specification documents to a centralised server and database. The data is fed into an external site and organised by academic year and sorted by file name. As these documents should be directly accesible from other external website like HEAR; it was very important to avoid broken links. So each document gets a unique download link, which allows staff to update a programme specification at any time to ensure it is up to date while exisiting incoming link will download the updated document.

Nice touch

Some staff are required to provide data for each course with a direct link to each individual document to HEAR - Higher Education Achievement Report. To avoid brokend link and to make 'copy and paste' the unique document link easier; I added some basic javascript to select the url by a simple click. Simple thing to save a tiny bit of time, minimise frustration and limit risk of copying only parts of the url.

Accessible to:

Everyone. Admin area is protected by University Access Manager and access restricted by list of KU ID in the database.
