About the Work Live
As more and more hospitals are starting to use electonic patient records; yet every trust using a diffirent system, Kingston University initially wanted to use a educational EPR provided by a big American company. However as their system proved to be very inflexible handling repeated simulations; I was asked to develop a generic version that would familiarise training nurse with the concept of using a tablet rather than paper forms as part of working on a ward.
Working in close relationship with staff; we ended up with a product in 2013 that is still used today. In 2018 Kingston University started talks with Liverpool University and Oxford Brooks to allow them to use it for their teaching of nurses. After the latest update to the EPR system it can now handle other universities getting access to the system. If it proves successfull, then it may be developed further to make a viable product to be used for traning nurses around UK and elsewhere.
Nice touch
