About the Work Dead

After seeing more and more university jumping ahead having a templated iPhone app billed by external companies and knowing our university were likely to do the same in the near future; I found it important to have an iPhone app, which would stand out from the crowd and more importantly display useful and integrated data to students and staff.
I took a lead and gathered a small dynamic team together and dipped into learning Xcode and the trickery with iOS. Luckily one of the team spend nights and day learning the depth of the programming language, so the rest could focus on the user interface, user experience and visual imagery.
After head banning the Apple Support service and the American Export Deportment; we old launch the Kingston Uni App mid-March 2012.
By developing the app in-house it has improved the functionalities and the amount of secure information that is accessible. And so far it has been well received by students and staff. Though some are shouting for an android version!

Update

The University decided to work with industry leading company after two years as our lead developer wasn't given time to improve the application.
